Solid Range
Zero visibility. A solid slat that reads as a wall when the door is shut.
Roller Shutters
Custom-made steel and aluminium shutter doors that close a shopfront, warehouse, or factory opening completely. Solid, perforated, or patterned so you can still see through.
A roller shutter door is a steel or aluminium curtain that rolls up into a box above the opening and closes the full span when you need it shut. DEFENDoor® makes three ranges, each tailored to your measured opening: solid, standard perforated, and a patented bubble perforation.
One range covers a great many openings, which is why the same door suits commercial shopfronts, industrial warehouses, factories, garages, offices, and homes. One of our consultants measures the opening on site, and each door is then made to that exact spec.
What separates the three ranges is how much you want to see through the door once it is closed. Solid slats give zero visibility. Standard perforation puts 166 three-millimetre holes through every 100mm of slat, so light and air pass while the opening stays shut. The bubble perforation does the same work in a patented pattern of varied circles that reads as a design feature, which suits a closed frontage that still has to look like something.

The range
What separates the ranges is how much you want to see through the door once it is closed. All three are custom-made to the measured opening, in aluminium or solid steel.
Zero visibility. A solid slat that reads as a wall when the door is shut.
166 x 3mm holes per 100mm of slat, so light and air pass while the opening stays shut.
DEFENDoor®'s patented pattern of varied circles. Security that boasts a sophisticated design feature.
All three ranges are custom-made to the opening and share the same materials, finish options, and operation. They differ only in what you can see through.

Manual push-up operation is available up to 3m x 2.5m, and larger openings take a gearbox, chain drive, or electric motor. A fully galvanised finish can replace powder coating where corrosion resistance counts for more than colour.
Every shutter is galvanised and powder-coated, in one of six standard colours or matched to a specification.
Custom colours available on request.
Colours shown here are a guide. Powder coating looks different in daylight than on a screen, so ask for a physical sample before you decide.
Every range comes in either material, with galvanised slats under the finish. You choose the material for the opening and the duty it takes, so it is not fixed by the range you pick.
DEFENDoor®’s own patented bubble perforation puts a pattern of varied circles through the slat, so a closed door still shows a lit interior instead of presenting a blank steel wall to the street.
Every shutter is galvanised and powder-coated, and can be colour matched. Where corrosion resistance counts for more than appearance, a fully galvanised finish is available instead.
Manual push-up up to 3m x 2.5m, then a gearbox, chain drive, or electric motor beyond that. We match the operation to the size of the opening and how often it is used.
These doors need little upkeep and are easy to keep clean. Wash them down, keep the tracks clear of debris, and have the mechanism inspected and lubricated once a year.
You can pay over up to 24 months through FeverTree, so a full site need not be secured one opening at a time.
